Sheving Crush + WM Finds

I've loved this shelf from World Market for quite some time. It's industrial looking, but new (the best of both worlds in my opinion!). I was recently catching up on my friend Natalie's blog when I realized she has this exact shelf in her studio. And, it looks fantastic. I just had to share photos. Love her styling and the fun + vintage accents in her studio space. Ch-ch-check it out..

So pretty and airy, right?!! Love her studio space! Pop over and say hi to Natalie (and visit her Etsy shop too!). And, whilst browsing the World Market website the other evening I noticed something. Remember this pretty canister set at Anthropologie?! Well. Ahem...

BOOM. Go getcha some. It's really too good to be true, y'all. Love every piece in the WM collection!!

Mushroom Measuring Spoons {Splurge vs. Steal}

You guys!! Remember when I posted this blog about my fave World Market finds?! And I picked out those cute little mushroom measuring spoons? Whilst browsing the Anthropologie website today guess what I came across....

Yep!! Spluge vs. Steal. I love the little gold dots on the Anthro measuring spoons, but I would definitely pick up the $5 set at World Market. That's a steal of a deal and would make a cute gift. Tied to a cute mug and filled with hot chocolate packets?! Perfect little gift!

Ocean Bauble {Splurge vs. Steal}

Recently, while doing a bit of product research for work, I found the two necklaces above. A splurge vs. steal, if you will. I thought it would be fun to share this example with you guys. I am really interested in the concept behind what makes people purchase things at a higher price point at particular stores.

The necklace on the left is from Anthropologie. Necklace on the right is from an Etsy shop.

What is it about this necklace that would make you pay $53.10 more for it at Anthropologie??

Quickly- a list of questions form in my mind. Is the quality better at Anthropologie? Workmanship? Are you just paying for a brand? Different materials? Are these made similar? At the same factory, even? Interesting to think about, right?!

Being on the other side of the coin (product development + design in the wholesale industry) makes it even more complex to me. So, I just thought I would share a bit of my day to day work-life. And, if you're wondering..I would definitely purchase the steal, not the splurge!

ONE more work day and then Hub and I are off to celebrate our anniversary. Happy day!
